Adopt-a-Cat Month

Get that lovin' feline in June

June is "Adopt-a-Cat Month," and as many as 100 kittens and adult cats are available for adoption at the Denver Dumb Friends League. Cats and kittens at the League are checked for good health and sound temperament. Additionally, each adoptee is provided preliminary vaccinations, a safety collar and I.D. tag, a microchip identification implant, and free veterinary exam from a participating member of the Denver Area Veterinary Medical Society.

The adoption fee for a cat or kitten is $55 and also includes a 15-day post-adoption treatment for any illness that may have incubated while a pet was in the League's care. Typically, this would be an upper respiratory infection, similar to a human's cold. The League also provides free assistance to its adopters who are experiencing animal behavior problems.

In a year's time, we place 4,500+ unwanted cats and kittens with new, loving owners. It is during the late spring and summer months, however, when the League receives its greatest number of homeless felines because cats are seasonal breeders and most are born at this time of year.

To adopt a cat from either of our shelters, please visit us during our regular hours of operation. For more information about adopting a pet from the Denver Dumb Friends League, please call 303-751-5772. We look forward to hearing from you!
